Daily Opening & Featured Conversation with Janelle Lopez Genzink [KEYNOTE]

Join all summit attendees for an inspiring start to the morning as we welcome one of the music industry's most exciting entrepreneurs.

Janelle Lopez Genzink is a music manager and founder of Volara, a management company built around a simple belief: artists do their best work when they have the right people, perspective, and support around them. Known for her thoughtful, deeply personal approach to management, Janelle is passionate about helping artists build careers that feel authentic to who they are—not simply careers that look successful from the outside. Over the course of her career, she has worked with artists including New Kids on the Block and Fifth Harmony, and today, alongside the Volara team, helps guide the careers of Sabrina Carpenter, MARINA, and HAIM. At Volara, she is equally focused on creating a collaborative home for managers who share those values—providing the infrastructure, resources, and extended team that allow managers to give their artists the highest level of care and attention, while maintaining the independence and individuality that make great management personal. For Janelle, the goal is simple: build enduring careers, exceptional teams, and the kind of infrastructure that allows great artists to think bigger.

Creative Conviction™: The Power of Betting on What Sets You Apart [WORKSHOP]
Own Your Superpower. Trust Your Gut. LFG!

Somewhere between breaking into the music business and fighting to stay there, we can lose touch with the very qualities that opened the door in the first place. Our gut. Our taste. Our audacity. The courage to take the shot before we know the outcome.

As careers grow, so do the pressures, expectations, and opinions. And without even realizing it, we can start editing the very things that make us extraordinary.

In this empowering, interactive workshop, music executive and creative coach Kate LaBrel introduces Creative Conviction™—a framework for reconnecting with your unique strengths, trusting your instincts, and making bold decisions without waiting for permission or certainty. Through storytelling, guided reflection, and practical exercises, participants will rediscover their creative superpowers and learn to lead with greater confidence while empowering the artists, creatives, and teams around them to do the same.

Your greatest superpower isn't something you need to find. It's something you've had all along. It's time to remember it, trust it, and take the shots only you can take.

The Songs We Carry [ACTIVITY]

Leadership isn’t only about how we communicate with others. It’s also shaped by how we communicate with ourselves, especially in moments of pressure, uncertainty, and change.

The Songs We Carry explores music as more than something we listen to. It’s an input we repeat, internalize, attach emotion to, and carry with us, often without choosing what it reinforces.

In this session, you’ll write your own chorus: a few lines about who you are when you’re leading at your best and what you need to hear when you’re not. It might start from a lyric you love, from guided reflection, or from your own words. Heidi will walk you through shaping it, setting it to a simple melody or rhythm, and singing it back.

You’ll walk away with:

- A chorus you wrote yourself, ready to use when pressure hits

- A clearer sense of what pulls you off course as a leader

- A practical look at how the way you talk to yourself shapes how you lead artists, teams, and clients

Stop Being Polite: Turning Friction Into Creative Advantage [WORKSHOP]
Most teams deal with polite gridlock—meetings where everyone nods along, but work stalls the second people leave the room. The real problem isn't bad intentions; it's that leaders often treat disagreement like a threat to manage instead of useful energy to guide. This interactive workshop shows how to separate arguments about the work from personal conflicts. Through live exercises, leaders will learn how to break bad communication habits, clarify team roles, and set up clear meeting routines. You’ll leave with a practical playbook to turn team friction into creative progress—and make hard conversations productive on Monday morning.

The Business They're Building: Leaders Rewriting How Music Works [PANEL]

These leaders aren't waiting for a seat at the table. They're already running teams, shaping strategy and making the calls that decide how the music business actually works, and they have strong opinions about where it should go from here. In this candid conversation, they'll get into what they'd keep, what they'd get rid of and what they think the business still gets wrong about its people. They'll also share how they define success and what a sustainable career in music looks like to them. And they'll talk about the kind of culture they're working to build for their own teams, and why getting that right matters as much as the results. Expect honest perspectives, a few hot takes and a clear view of where things are headed from the people already taking it there.

Leading a Multigenerational Music Business Team [PANEL]
At any given time, four to five generations are working side by side in the music business, from executives who built careers on physical sales to Gen Z hires who grew up on TikTok. Leaders are expected to speak all of their languages, often in the same afternoon. In this candid conversation, some of the industry's top leaders share how they navigate how to communicate depending on who's in the room, without losing who they are and how they lead. They'll get into the very different ideas each generation has about feedback, loyalty, boundaries and what a good day at work looks like. They'll also talk about building teams where a 23-year-old coordinator and a 30-year veteran actually learn from each other instead of just putting up with each other. Expect honest stories, a few lessons learned the hard way and plenty of time for your questions. There's no script, just a real conversation about leading people who don't all see the world the same way.

RnBreathe: Million-Dollar Capacity [ACTIVITY]

Learn how to allocate your attention for greater leverage, clearer decisions, and bigger impact.

At the executive level, your value is no longer measured by how much you can personally carry. It’s measured by how effectively you direct your attention, judgment, and leadership toward the decisions that matter most.

In a business defined by constant inputs — artists, managers, teams, data, deadlines, revenue pressure, and rapid change — high-performing leaders can easily spend their most valuable attention solving problems that don’t require their highest level of involvement.

In this interactive leadership experience, former music executive Mo Hiromoto combines strategic discussion with RnBreathe, her R&B-driven breathwork practice, to interrupt reactive patterns, create distance from the noise, and help participants reassess where their attention creates the greatest organizational and professional value.

Participants will leave with a practical framework for distinguishing what requires a response, what can be delegated or automated, what requires executive judgment, and where their full leadership capacity can create disproportionate impact.

The Empathy Bridge: A Creator-to-Executive Conversation (presented by ASCAP)

To truly evolve the music business and meet the culture where it's at, we must bring every voice to the table — and actively listen to one another. Here, we’ll have a powerful unfiltered conversation between industry leader Nick Lehman and a music creator, something rarely done at the Summit. This candid chat is designed to deepen empathy between the creative and commercial sides of music.

What does it really mean to be a music creator in 2026? What emotional toll does the hustle take, and how can the industry better support the people at the heart of the music we love? And vice versa? Together, we’ll explore the highs and lows of the creative journey — the pressure, the passion, the vulnerability — and why wellness must be part of the plan.

This session invites everyone to pause, reflect, and connect — because building a more compassionate, sustainable music industry starts with understanding each other.

What’s Your Energy Type? Discover the Energy Behind Your Leadership [WORKSHOP]

The music industry swings between all-out acceleration and sudden slowdowns. You can succeed in both, but how you use your energy shapes how well you navigate them.

Your energy shapes how you think, feel, and act. The patterns that help you thrive when things are moving fast can work against you when they slow down. Yet few of us have learned to treat energy management as a crucial business skill.

When you learn to work with your energy rather than letting your patterns take over, you can navigate every season of the industry with greater focus, vitality, and aliveness, making success more sustainable and rewarding.

In this interactive workshop, you’ll take a quick assessment to discover your dominant energy type. Through practical teaching and group discussion, you’ll explore how your type shows up across different phases of the music business, where it gives you an edge, and the traps you’re most likely to fall into.

You’ll walk away with:

– Your personal energy profile and what it reveals about how you make decisions, collaborate, and lead

– A clearer picture of where you excel and where you’re most likely to get in your own way as projects move through cycles of acceleration and slowdown

– A practical three-step reset to regain clarity under pressure, adapt to changing demands, and reduce unnecessary energy drain

Real Talk: Authentic Relating for Music Leaders [WORKSHOP]

The music business runs on relationships, yet most of our conversations stay on the surface: what are you working on, who do you know, what's next. In this 75-minute interactive workshop, executive coach Kelby Kupersmid guides participants through Authentic Relating, a simple, structured practice for skipping the small talk and building real trust fast.

Working in pairs and small groups with guided prompts, you'll practice saying what's actually true for you, listening without an agenda, and getting curious about the person in front of you. It's playful, surprisingly moving, and immediately useful, whether you're leading a team, signing an artist, closing a deal, or just want to leave the Summit with a few people you genuinely know.

You'll walk away with:

- Deeper connections with fellow attendees, made in the room

- A framework to turn any networking chat into a real conversation

- A practical tool for more honest one-on-ones and team meetings

No prep or experience needed. Come ready to talk, listen, and move around.
